| | ICRC Heifer seal the deal for a second project October 19, 2011 — News On September 15, 2011, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Heifer Nepal on behalf of Heifer International at Heifer Nepal's office in Kathmandu. Dr. Shubh Narayan Mahato, country director of Heifer Nepal, and Mr. Jerome Fontana, deputy head of delegation of ICRC, signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations. read more |

Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) and Heifer International Nepal (Heifer) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to synergize their efforts in the grassroots and at a national level to work together towards achieving the common goal of ensuring the opportunities of the disadvantaged and alleviating poverty in Nepal. The Vice Chairperson of PAF, Vidhyadhar Mallik presided over the event while Raj Babu Shrestha, Executive Director for PAF and Dr. Shubh N. | | Heifer’s match promotes community fundraising for development August 31, 2011 — News The Minister for Education and Culture handed a fund of 2,064,174 Nepalese Rupees (approx 28,276 US Dollar) to Heifer’s project families in the District of Nuwakot. The money had been matched by Heifer International. Families involved in the projects implemented by local NGO partners CARDSN, WFC and SSS had collected the fund with contributions from their own group fund, local schools, government line agencies and public donations.

| | Heifer’s women led co-operative union marks new hopes August 31, 2011 — News Heifer's District Social Entrepreneurs’ Cooperative Union of Chitwan and Nawalparasi held their first general assembly. Chairing the event was Keshav Baral, the President of National Cooperative Union, who said, “These unions will contribute in changing the social standing of the women through social entrepreneurship while concurring to the norms and values of cooperatives for a better Nepal.”

| | Heifer CEO, Pierre Ferrari in Nepal March 28, 2011 — News The CEO's trip started off in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal and took the CEO and his team through Janakpur, in the Eastern part of the country to Chitwan in the central plains where he met with project families, their children and the community. | | Heifer International President Jo Luck visits Nepal December 08, 2010 — News Jo Luck was in Nepal from 1 to 4 December as a part of a field visit to contribute to the writing of a book about Heifer and its work around the world. Heifer International’s President Jo Luck visited an ethnic Tamang community’s Passing on the Gift ceremony on a windy ledge. In Jhor, outside of the city, Jo Luck participated in an interaction program with the women.
